The Lang Cat launches policy planning tool

A fully searchable and constantly updated policy planning tool, Tracker, has been launched by the Lang Cat.

Tracker is designed for regulated financial firms to help them stay on top of policy developments that will likely impact them and their customers in some way.

Additionally, the tracker is designed to help firms prioritise what is important to them and their customers.

The Lang Cat's senior public affairs consultant, Alison Gay, said: “We know firms want to stay on top of regulatory developments, but there’s so much going on that it’s difficult to monitor everything.

“To do it properly is time intensive and expensive.”

She added that Tracker will help regulated firms of all sizes see what’s coming down the line, prioritise what’s important, work out what it all means for them and their customers, and help identify threats and opportunities.

At launch, Tracker includes over 100 policy issues that, according to the Lang Cat, anyone working in retail financial services needs to be aware of to give them an advantage.

This includes details of the latest government and regulatory consultation, trade body campaigns and information, discussion papers, and overall policy developments.

The Lang Cat also stated that monitoring and regular updating will be conducted by its regulatory and public affairs team, who will collate what finance professionals need to know.

They will also provide analysis of what any proposed changes might entail and help users "join the dots" between the different initiatives.

Tracker will be available at no additional cost to existing subscribers of the Lang Cat’s RegTech software Analyser, which helps firms undertake robust suitability and due diligence on platform and MPS propositions.

Advice firms can access Tracker by signing up to Analyser, where they will have a free trial.

Providers can also subscribe to Tracker as part of the Lang Cat’s insight package.
