Tilney rebrands investment service for advisers

Tilney has rebranded its division offering support and investment solutions to financial advisers.

Tilney for Professionals brings together the services offered by Tilney, Towry and Ingenious Asset Management under one brand.

Craig Wright, managing director for business development at Tilney, said the service is available to financial advisers, accountants and legal firms and would offer ongoing support to help them run their businesses.

He said: “We are working with around 250 adviser firms and we want to give the adviser confidence that we are treating them like a professional.”

Mr Wright said Tilney for Professionals would be offering advisers guidance on regulation and compliance to help them run their businesses.

The service offers two models: an adviser model, which sees Tilney for Professionals provide investment management to clients with a mandate chosen by an adviser, and an introducer model in which the company provides investment advice and investment management to clients introduced by intermediaries.

Mr Wright said the idea of outsourcing investment was becoming “more of the norm” and turning around due diligence questions quickly was “now part of the job”.

But he said he could understand any “healthy scepticism” that an adviser might have about Tilney’s motives towards their clients.

He said: “Whilst we don’t share names and there is a Chinese wall in place, you have to trust us and it has turned out most of the financial advisers we deal with do.”
