Charles Stanley marches further into advice market

Charles Stanley has appointed five new staff to its financial planning division as it eyes further expansion into the sector.

The company has said it will strengthen the team’s expertise in providing bespoke advice.

David Morris has joined from Arthur J Gallagher & Co, has been appointed financial planning advice manager and will be based in the Birmingham office

Meanwhile Julie Goodman and Adam Swift have both been appointed to the London office after joining from Bellpenny.

The former is appointed as a financial planner while the latter as a paraplanner.

Andrew Meigh, managing director of financial planning at Charles Stanley, said “These appointments mark a key point in the development of financial planning at Charles Stanley and will be instrumental in ensuring we bring our wealth management offering to increased numbers of clients. 

“They mark the first wave of what will be a significant strengthening of our team and I look forward to working with them.”

Anne McClean has been appointed as a financial planner, joining Charles Stanley’s London office from Mercer & Hole.

Meanwhile David Hume has been appointed as a financial planner and will be based in the London office.

He joined the company from Close Brothers Asset Management.
