Adviser trainers unite to launch learning site

A group of training providers have teamed up to develop an online hub where financial advisers will be able to find their services in one place.

The Financial Planning Development Hub will launch as a website next month with content for paraplanners, financial planners and practice managers.

There will also be a directory of coaches and trainers as well as a virtual book club with live webinars.

Chris Budd of Bristol-based Ovation Finance is one of the people behind the hub.

He said: “It came about because there are a lot of providers of training in the financial services sector and there are more and more starting all the time.

“Some of us got together and felt it would be useful for financial planners and paraplanners to have one place to go and get these services.”

It is aimed at providers of both technical and non-technical skills and knowledge.

Mr Budd said the service would not be a “club” and anyone providing a training service would be welcome to sign up.

He said: “It will also be a place where we as trainers can get together and share best practice.”

The website will also publish a 2017 training review of the year next month, which will look back at who has been doing what to support the financial planning sector.

Anyone interested in becoming part of the hub can contact Adam Owen on mail@adamowen.info or Mr Budd on chrisbudd@ovationfinance.co.uk.
