Youth focus for Beacon Wealth Management

Cambridgeshire-based Beacon Wealth Management has taken on a young administrator with a view to training her up as a paraplanner.

Rebecca Tearle is one of a batch of new, younger recruits the firm is taking on, as it hopes to expand.

Beacon Wealth Management said it was taking on younger people in particular to "expand, taking on new younger recruits, in order to increase energy, introduce different ideas and a new way of thinking".

Ms Tearle, who previously worked for a pensions company as a customer service representative and line trainer, commented: "After working for a pensions company, I felt that I would like to see what it was like from a different perspective working for an Independent Financial Adviser and especially as I want to become a paraplanner."

She said the advice practice has made her feel "very welcome" and Beacon was supportive with her study and exam progress to become a paraplanner and expand her knowledge.

Ms Tearle added: "Everyone always puts 110 per cent of effort into helping their clients. As I was previously a customer service representative, customer service is very important to me and caring for clients is a must.

"I love every part of my job, from meeting new people to the research we do on clients' plans."

In May this year, the Personal Finance Society announced it was set to launch a nationwide financial education programme in schools and colleges.

This is partly to educate young people about their finances but also to attract more young people into the financial advice industry.
