Continuum partners with East Anglia IFA

Continuum has expanded its footprint into East Anglia with the recruitment of a Norwich-based IFA.

The financial advice partnership has added IFA Peter Barton to its network of advisers.

It stated the deal would support the demand for financial advice from its national affinity partnership with accountancy network 2020 Innovation.

Mr Barton said: "To work with the whole Continuum team and the proposition they provide, enables me to spend more time serving the needs of my clients and developing new client relationships.

"I was very keen to be part of a larger, highly efficient and professional organisation. I was most impressed at the integrity of everyone within the business and what had been achieved to date, as well as the infrastructure to support the adviser’s day to day."

In November last year Continuum parted ways with the Caerus Network after it had been taken over by Intrinsic.

The company stated it needed the flexibility that direct authorisation offered to enable it to grow.

Under Intrinsic, advisers typically operate a restricted business model and following the takeover Caerus implemented a phased transition process to Intrinsic on a firm by firm basis.

At the start of 2019, Continuum announced it had partnered with Marlborough Group Holdings, selling a 19.99 per cent stake in its business.

Martin Brown, managing partner at Continuum, said: "Our focus remains on a strong three-way relationship between Continuum, the adviser and the client. This has driven outstanding year-on-year organic growth where our advisers enjoy extensive face-to-face and online support, including links with local accountants through our 2020 relationship."

Mr Brown added that Continuum has a "strong pipeline of new adviser enquiries" and will continue to add to its network.
