National advice firm names former Santander boss as chairman

The former chief executive of Santander Asset Management has been appointed chairman of national advice firm Perspective.

Jeff Scott ran Santander Asset Management between 2008 and 2017 and before this he was director of mortgages at Santander.

He said: "Perspective is a great business with an excellent management team, a robust compliance approach and a respected and increasingly high-profile brand.

"The group’s absolute focus on the client is impressive and, together with its highly qualified and experienced team of advisers, clearly stands out in this sector.

"I share their ambitions for future growth and look forward to helping guide the business."

Earlier this month Perspective received “major investment” from private equity house CBPE Capital as the firm looks to continue growing through acquisition.

Since being founded in 2008 the firm has acquired 35 IFA businesses — including four in 2019 — and now has 15 offices across the UK employing 180 staff and 55 advisers.

Ian Wilkinson, group managing director said: “We are very pleased to have Jeff on-board as our new chairman.

"He brings proven expertise of guiding organisations to achieve the highest possible client-centric standards across all aspects of their operations and of using digital technology to deliver transformational change and sustainable growth."

Mr Scott will continue with his current role as chairman of NatWest Trustee Depositary Services, where he also chairs the board risk committee.
