Former BNP Paribas boss named as Mattioli Woods chairman

David Kiddie will replace Joanne Lake as chairman of Mattioli Woods at the beginning of next year.

In a statement this morning (October 1), the wealth and asset manager confirmed Kiddie would succeed Lake no later than January 21 2022, pending regulatory approval.

Kiddie has served on the Mattioli Woods board as a non-executive director since January this year and was previously chief executive at BNP Paribas Investment Partners UK.

He also previously served as chief investment officer at AMP Capital Investors and Rothschild Asset Management.

Kiddie is currently a non-executive director at Investment Fund Services and Marlborough Fund Managers.

Lake announced she would be stepping down as chairman last month, after five years in the role and nine years on the Mattioli Woods board.

Ian Mattioli, chief executive of Mattioli Woods, said: "The board welcomes David to the chairman role and believes that having worked with him closely over recent months he, along with the other recent appointments, creates a board with the skills, experience and capabilities to enter the next phase of the group's development and to deliver our ambitious strategic plan.”

He added: "We would like to thank Joanne for her insight and contributions since her appointment in July 2012. In that time, we have seen significant growth and change in the group and we wish her every success for the future."
