Tilney S&W hires investment director from Kleinwort Hambros
Andrew Lewin, investment director at Tilney Smith & Williamson

Tilney Smith & Williamson has appointed Andrew Lewin as an investment director to its investment management team in London.

Lewin joins from Kleinwort Hambros where he was a director responsible for providing wealth management solutions to UK and international families, trusts and charities.

Before that he was an associate director at Royal Bank of Canada Wealth Management and a private banker at Barclays Wealth and Investment Management.

Lewin has 14 years experience in the wealth management industry, covering both portfolio management and private banking roles.

He said: “I'm delighted to be joining Tilney Smith & Williamson at such an exciting time for the business. In a fragmented marketplace, its position as the UK's leading integrated wealth management and professional services firm is unrivalled.

“Their track record of providing high calibre investment management combined with a successful and well-established financial planning offering is a hugely attractive proposition and I am excited to help take the business forward to further success."

Holly Merriman, director at Tilney Smith & Williamson added: “I am very pleased to welcome Andrew to our growing investment management team in London.

“Andrew brings a considerable amount of valuable experience and expertise from working at a number of leading financial services firms which I know will be of considerable benefit to our business and clients.”

Last week, Tilney Smith & Williamson bought north east advice firm Explore Wealth Management for an undisclosed sum.

The deal will see five staff from Explore Wealth Management, along with the firm’s owner Stephen Sumner, join Tilney Smith & Williamson’s office in Newcastle.

Earlier this year, Tilney also added an investment management team in Newcastle, headed up by investment manager Matthew Burgess, which will allow clients in the north east to have their investment portfolios managed by a locally based team.
