The Financial Ombudsman Service has appointed Jenny Simmonds as chief finance and risk officer.
Simmonds will take up her role in January and will lead the financial and risk infrastructure.
She will be accountable for the property and facilities management strategies, the procurement function and will also act as company secretary.
Jenny is currently strategy, commercial and data director at Virgin Media O2 Business & Wholesale UK.
She has more than 10 years’ experience as a finance director, having held this role across various divisions of Virgin Media O2.
Abby Thomas, chief executive and chief ombudsman at the Fos, said: “Jenny brings a wealth of experience as a finance director and has a leadership style that is inclusive and collaborative.
“Jenny will be a strong addition to the executive team. I’m delighted she is joining us and I’m looking forward to working with her.”
Simmonds added: “I am very much looking forward to joining the Fos. I am passionate about delivering the best for consumers and businesses with a purpose that really matters, and the core values of the service align closely with my own.”
