It looks like George Osborne has a challenge on his hands. According to Aviva, the over-45s have a surprising lack of interest in their pension pots, despite their proximity to retirement.

More than one in 10 does not read his pension statements and one in four of those retiring in the next two years do not review his pensions. However, if you were to look at the other end of the spectrum, according to one provider, 20-year-olds are ringing up asking to cash in their pension.

Methinks a bit of education is needed.
