Northview reshuffle sees Finlay and Whittaker exit

The Northview Group is combining the senior management teams at its Kensington and New Street lending brands, with the result that David Finlay and Adrian Whittaker have decided to leave and pursue new opportunities.

Both Kensington and New Street will continue to operate as individual brands, delivering complementary propositions to the market.

The group stated by combining its management structure, it will be able to provide mortgage intermediaries with a more consistent experience opportunity to place their cases, whether they need a light touch, high-tech approach from New Street, or more manual underwriting from Kensington.

“The UK economy and housing market are built on robust foundations and there will continue to be strong demand for mortgages from customers who require alternative options to the mainstream lenders,” read the statement. “We will continue to work closely with our intermediary partners to develop our proposition and meet this demand.”

Northview thanked Mr Finlay and Mr Whittaker for their hard work in establishing the lending platform and wished them every success in the future.

Mr Whittaker joined the group from conveyancing firm My Home Move last August, where he has been corporate sales director since March 2013.

Prior to that he was a key accounts director at Abbey for Intermediaries, but was made redundant in January 2013 following a sales team restructure.

Mr Finlay joined Northview in 2014, moving from being intermediary mortgage director at Barclays.

He joined the bank in 1999 as a national intermediary accounts manager, becoming head of the northern intermediary business in 2001 and a relationship and operations director for Barclays Home Finance in 2004.

The two of them came together in February this year to launch mass-market brand New Street Mortgages, with Mr Whittaker as sales director and Mr Finlay as director of distribution.

This followed Kensington Group rebranding as Northview Group, in an effort to bring together its offerings, according to chief executive Amany Attia.

Separately, Northview’s head of marketing and communications Alex Hammond is joining Castle Trust as head of mortgage marketing.
