True Potential has moved to strengthen its investments subsidiary with two senior hires to newly-created roles.

The company has appointed Sheridan Davy as head of risk and compliance and Colin Beveridge as chief investment officer.

Mr Davy was previously vice president of compliance monitoring at Blackrock, before which he worked at the department for work and pensions. He recently received the International Compliance Association Diploma in Compliance.

Mr Beveridge most recently ran an academic research and consulting business called Long Horizon, and has previously held the role of chief investment manager at Alliance Trust PLC and investment director at Scottish Widows Investment Partnership.

His own research includes a study of persistency of financial performance and analysis of the sustainability and volatility of dividends.

Daniel Harrison, senior partner at TPI, said the investment business is one of the main growth areas for True Potential.

He added: “Finding the best talent to add to our existing pool of knowledge is vital to meet demands of our partners, adviser firms and investors”

Last month True Potential launched a new network, True Potential Associate Partners. Around the same time it also announced the launch of True Potential Investor, a direct-to-consumer platform for people with a minimum investment of £50.
