Former Schroders man Isaac joins Invesco as bond CIO

Former Schroders bond manager Gareth Isaac has joined Invesco as its Emea fixed income chief investment officer.

The newly created role will see Mr Isaac support Nick Tolchard, Invesco's fixed income head of Emea, in working with the investment grade, high yield, emerging markets and credit analyst teams to boost product development.

Mr Isaac will also represent the Emea region on Invesco's fixed income investment strategy team and lead portfolio management and strategic investment thinking for the global macro team in London.

He reports to Rob Waldner, chief strategic and multi-sector head for Invesco's fixed income business.

Mr Isaac's appointment follows his 2016 departure from Schroders, where he served as a senior fixed income fund manager for five years, including managing its £112m Strategic Bond fund and a range of other mandates.

He has previously held roles with GLG Partners, SG Asset Management, Newton and Axa Investment Management.

Mr Tolchard said: "Gareth’s credentials in developing and delivering strong investment strategies and his depth of experience in fixed income markets make him the ideal candidate for this role.

"He is known in the investor and consultant industry as a highly credible and respected investment strategist and we look forward to working together to deliver a superior investment experience for our clients globally.”
