All you ever wanted to know about UK bonds ...

Corporate bonds have provided a measure of return amid record low yields, but talk of the lower for longer yield environment, and with large UK companies cutting dividends, equity income is a harder hunting-ground for income investors, leading advisers unsure of where to go to provide certainty of income for their clients.

Two questions pre-dominate; can UK fixed income provide a measure of this security and, if so, where are the sweet spots in UK corporate bonds right now? How can UK corporate bonds fit into a fixed income part of a diversified portfolio?

Last week, BlackRock fixed income manager Ben Edwards said he was maintaining a large weighting to government bonds to fund tactical moves, amid a concerted effort to find more alpha in the market.

Mr Edwards will join Mark Preskett of Morningstar and Patrick Connolly from Chase de Vere at 12 noon tomorrow, Thursday 5th October, to talk about the prospects for UK corporate bonds, how to spot quality fixed income in this sector and how to build income into a portfolio.
