Aberdeen Standard Investments has appointed Aileen Mathieson as global head of strategic platform investment solutions.
Ms Mathieson joins from Zurich where she was UK head of wealth management and chief investment officer at Zurich Insurance.
She has been recruited to help roll out ASI's investment strategy for platform clients.
She will report to global head of distribution Campbell Fleming and work alongside the firm's 900-strong distribution team around the world.
Ms Mathieson had already worked for Standard Life in the past, as chief operating officer in the firm's savings business, before joining wrap platform Nucleus Financial as chief financial officer in 2010.
Mr Fleming said: "I am delighted to welcome Aileen back to the business. She will focus on identifying how we better evolve the investment offering, helping to grow and broaden our wholesale propositions in order to develop new partners as well as to enhance our relationships with existing strategic clients."
Ms Mathieson added: "Having been a client of ASI in my previous roles at Zurich and Nucleus I was always impressed at the breadth of skills in insurance and asset management of the teams in ASI and I’m looking forward to working with these teams to develop solutions that will generate value for both our clients and their customers."
