This was an unexpected finding.
It suggests that early stage venture capital investing is no longer the preserve of the multi-millionaires and billionaires and is being used by a wider spread of clients, including successful entrepreneurs and business owners themselves – something that can only be a good thing for the growth economy.
IFAs therefore have a key role to play by helping to channel much needed capital into our growth economy.
In order to do so, they need to gain more insight into the right opportunities, the companies and the sectors involved.
They need to get to know the EIS managers and have confidence in the expertise that we can share.
In doing so, this will not only benefit entrepreneurs, it will stimulate job creation, benefit the economy and provide genuine investment opportunities for clients.
