Williams ends 30-year run at RLAM amid Europe review

Royal London Asset Management (RLAM) stalwart Andrea Williams has become the latest to depart from the fund house's European equity division amid a review of its offering.

Ms Williams, who joined the fund house as a UK analyst around three decades ago, had most recently served as lead manager on the £619m European Growth fund.

The departure comes as RLAM reviews its European equities offering and follows on closely from the exit of Neil Wilkinson, who had worked on the firm's £274m European Opportunities fund, just last month.

Mike Fox, who served as deputy manager on the Growth fund and has already assumed Mr Wilkinson's duties, will now also fill in for Ms Williams until a replacement is found.

In a statement an RLAM spokesman said: "RLAM can confirm that Andrea Williams has agreed to leave Royal London Asset Management. We would like to thank her for her service and hard work over the past 30 years. We wish her well for the future.

"As mentioned previously, RLAM is fully committed to its active European equities offering and is taking the opportunity to review this area.

"Mike Fox will take over the full management of all of RLAM's European equities funds, on an interim basis, until a suitable replacement has been found."

RLAM's European equities offering also includes a legacy fund, the £247m European Growth Trust, though the management of this is outsourced.
