Ex-Schroders manager joins Buffettology team

Former Schroders mid-cap manager Rosemary Banyard has joined Sanford DeLand Asset Management, home to the CFP SDL UK Buffettology fund, to work alongside existing manager Keith Ashworth-Lord.

Ms Banyard will join the team as an investment director. She left Schroders last year, having spent 18 years at the fund manager, latterly as co-head of the pan-European mid and small-cap team.

Principally known to investors for her role running UK mid-cap mandates alongside Andy Brough while at the FTSE 100 asset manager, Ms Banyard said of her new role: "[Mr Ashworth-Lord and I] have had the privilege to build very successful investment portfolios. I am eager to combine our financial and analytical skills so we can innovate and introduce, subject to the appropriate FCA approvals, new investment products in the future to complement SDL’s highly successful Buffettology product."

The Buffettology fund, which now has £64m in assets, is a UK small-cap portfolio which buys shares in accordance with the investment philosophy employed by Warren Buffett. It has returned 37.9 per cent over the past three years compared with an IA UK All Companies sector average of 16.7 per cent, according to FE Analytics.
